Finished Rows and some more Hexagon Prep...

I have finished half of my Hexi flowers.....70 in total.....
And I have now cut the other 70........
Now for the big decision of what colours to put
together for the second half of my Hexi Quilt......
This is the first three and a half rows so far......
And lots of gluing..........I am really loving my glue pen......
Imagine how much slower it would be if I was basting them....
Miss Molly and I are off to Sydney for The State Championships Netball
3 day weekend tomorrow so the Hexi's will be coming
along for in between games and nights in the motel.....
The boys are heading to Maitland for Basketball.....

Cloth Dolls

Here are some pics of some cloth Dolls that I made some years ago.
The first is an angel with funky striped socks and a halo made out of rusty tin and wire....
She hangs on my old kitchen dresser in my Dining Room....

The second is a little sweetie, her hair is made from curled wire and she
has a little bear friend to keep her company.....

She hangs on a hook on the mirror in my front entry.

And third is a trio if Angels..... Faith...Hope... And Charity.....
They hang across the window at the end of my kitchen......
I made these before I discovered Quilting.......*Grin*

A Few More Hexie Blooms

I have finished a few more blooms in the "Forever Spring" range of fabric.
I am really loving the colours all together........

Nice to have some pretty blooms as all the leaves are turning or disappearing in my garden at the moment.

I have now completed exactly half....That's 70 flowers!

I still have this pile to prepare so I can stitch the other half.....I think the preparation is the slowest part.

Until next time, Happy Stitching

My Garden Block of the Month

I have finally started to do some prep work on my "My Garden Quilt"
Designed by Lynette Anderson it was a block of
the month but I wanted to do it all together.
Each month you purchase one of Lynette's Hand Painted buttons
and she includes the pattern for free.
Thought I had better get started as I have also signed up for "Christmas Fun" he he......
The blocks have stitching and applique

I am making myself do the applique by Needle Turned method,
which is a lot slower than I am used to........
But I will hang in there as I do like the effect.

This is my first block, applique finished and stitching started.

The fabrics and threads are great.....
I purchased them in a kit from "Honeysuckle Cottage"

Until next time, Happy stitching

Hexie Blocks and My First Row

Row 1 starting to take shape.

I have joined a few flowers together and made up some blocks.....I wanted to wait until I had made all the flowers but I ran out of papers. After a bit of deliberating I decided on my first row. I must say it is nice seeing them come together and they feel so soft with the papers out of the middle.

I picked these little clips up at Kmart....They are the best thing for clipping your petals together in groups before stitching, and also for holding your blooms whilst piecing them together.......

Time to go and join up some more rows......

Until next time, Happy Stitching

A Christmas Story Quilt

I started this Christmas Quilt in the last school holidays and have made great progress.
This is my preferred method of applique but the one in the book was needle turned.........
These are the stockings on Block B of my version of "A Christmas Story Quilt"
Bet you can't guess who designed it.........

This is the completed block, there are 5 in total and a border with tongues and stitcheries.

Gingerbread Man Tongue
Church Tongue
Lots of work in this one but very rewarding....

Until next time, Happy Stitching

Jack's 14th Birthday Quilt

This is the Quilt that I made for Jack's 14th Birthday last August. It is from Annie Downs' Boy Book. Made from Woollies Flannels.......Looks like woven wool but is actually flannel.......Just so snuggly........
I purchased this little stitchery from Cobar Quilt Shop........It grew into this quilt.....
The words say "Boys are like stars, there are millions of them
but only one can make your dreams come true"

I used up the leftovers to make a scappy panel for the back.

And I hand quilted it with black perle crochet cotton.

It is called "Old and Worn"

And the little man in my life was quite impressed with his new quilt....
Until next time, Happy Stitching
