Candlewicked Cushion

This is the cushion that I made for my Nan's 76th Birthday......
She will be 88 this year and the cushion still looks this good......

Bless her of cause it is just for decoration as it is too good to be used!!!!
Sound familiar......

Here is a close up of the detail......

The label is not very creative and the only dirty spot is after
the 'n" on Nan as I pricked my finger and bled on it....oops!
Adds character....*Grin*

Crazy Daizies.....

This is the quilt that I made Miss Molly for
Christmas when she was 6....
In the words of Cher "If I could turn back time!"

Wow the colours really have faded over time.....
It was a workshop held in Cobar and I decided
to do it at the last minute......
I purchased some of the fabrics the other ladies were
using and then added some Homespun.....
Wish I had used better fabric now but she loves it and it was when
she was loving all things pink and purple..........

I found it a challenge as the key was to sew and then cut and
sew and then cut and the wonkier you cut the blocks the better....
Bit of a challange for a perfectionist *Grin*.....
This is the custom made label, daizie and all.....
She actually cried under the Christmas tree when she opened it
and jumped up and hugged me *Tear*.....
So as you can imagine there wasn't a dry eye in the house....

Weekend Cooking & A New Kitchen Towel

Jacky Mister and I spent some time together cooking
over the weekend, He is a beaut little cook.....
Miss Molly on the other hand is not very interested in
cooking but is happy to be the taste tester any time.....
He started with this Bananna Bread.......

I sampled a piece while it was still warm and it was delicous......

Next he cooked one of his favourites........Pizza Slice.....

After more sampling we decided this one was delicous as well!
I was the chief chopper upper and washer upper......

Pardon the pun but then things really got rolling....*Grin*
Homemade Sausage Rolls.....Who doesn't like these?
After lots of rolling and chopping  I was promoted to painting the tops
with milk before we popped them into the oven......

And this is how good they looked when they came
out of the oven and they tasted even better.....
We had some for lunch and put some in the freezer for another day......

I grabbed for my kitchen towel and was embarrassed
at the site of the poor thread bare thing.....
So last night I made myself this new one.....
I think I may have earned it!!!!!

I stitched this cute Harvest fabric to the bottom to jazz it up a little....
I hope you all had a great weekend....

Punch Needle Tool Holder

I made this liitle pouch to store my Punch Needle Tool in.....
I think I should have used a darker green for the stem and leaves......
Fussy.......I know but that's me......
The button detail is cute....

Visit Home to Cobar

WARNING!!!!! Extremely long post with lots of pics so now
would be a good time to grab a cuppa and relax
while you hear about my recent visit home to Cobar......
Miss Molly, Jacky Mister and I have just spent 5 great days
in Cobar staying with my wonderful friend Suze and her family.....
Firstly a big thank you to them all for having us.....
Suze and her husband Steven provided us with some lovely
home cooked meals and some great company......
Special mention should go to Stevo's Sunday Roast......

This is a picture of Miss Molly and Suze's daughter
Hayley out the front of the Cobar Quilt Shop......
Both Suze and Hayley work there......

I was lucky to get a Sunday Shopping experience all for just Lil old me....
It is great having contacts!!!!!!
Pictured is Suze cutting some fabric for me......

This is it!!!!! Gorgeous Flannel called "Harvest Town"

Suze is using it to make a quilt and I just had to have some too.......
I am going to make it up in this pattern that I also purchased....

Here is a shot of the shop with Suze's
colour wash heart quilt hanging on the wall at the back......

I also managed to get some stitching done on my "Tis the Season Blocks"
and  my School House Block from "My Town".....
But more of those later......

No trip to Cobar would be complete without a
visit to Jodi's shop "Jellywares"
In this pic we are all wearing scarves made from wool from the shop....
Could be a modeling career out there for us *Grin*
Mine crocheted by Suze for my birthday....
Jodie crocheted her own and Suze's a great knitted one.......

You could spend many hours in there, it is so inviting.......

Here I am with some wool and a little book to make
the same scarf as Suze and also another one......
It is hard to stop at just one......*Grin*
I cannot crochet but think it is high time to
dust off the knitting needles......
Living in Orange is a great excuse, don't you think......

Hayley made me these cute crocheted necklaces
(She is a clever girl like her Mum)

Here I am modeling the first two.....
The third was still under construction but I couldn't wait!!!!
Thankyou  Hayley May......

My cousin Pauline also made me this fab neck warmer....
In a day!!! I love it and am feeling just a tad spoilt.......
Love you Paulie.....

Check out this little beauty!
This is the first machine that I ever sewed on as a girl......
Originally owned by my 87 year old grandmother
Catherine Gordon and promised to me years ago....
She let me bring it home with me so I am a little excited.....
I am not sure how old it is exactly but it is run by electricity....
I dusted it off and turned it on and it still works...Ewwww!!!

Even if I never sew on it I feel very blessed to have it in my house....
On the way home to Orange we called into "Ewe Two on Dandaloo"
A great shop in Trangie with clothes and homewares etc.....
I purchased the enamel pitcher and string caddy pictured above......

I also got these gorgeous cups and saucers....
She only had two left so I got them both.......

*Grin* Couldn't resist this fridge magnet!!!!!
All in all we had a great time visiting friends and family.....
I hope you have all enjoyed the school holidays...
Until next time, Happy Stitching

How cute is this little coin purse?

It is another finish for me from Annies "In the life of a Bag" book......
We all need one of these......

I don't need a wallet any more as sewing keeps me poor*Grin*
Just a few coins left for me......

My Garden "The Barrow"

I finished "The Barrow" off last night......
I will need to stitch down the tail after I stitch the borders on.....
This one has a flower button to finish it off.....

That leaves "The Birdbath" to go.....
Last block to stitch before construction!

It is in the hoop with applique done, just the stitching to go.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Jack's First Quilt

This is the first quilt that I made Jacky Mister for his 4th Birthday......
Look how cute he was *Tear*
I also made him a new one last year for his 14th Birthday,
check it out in one of my previous posts......

I wanted something that he wouldn't grow out of.......

It is simple checks and primitive stars...

Jack is my Star!!!!!

I traced his little hand to make the quilt label......

It has faded quite a bit...
He has used it on his bed for almost 11 years....
Wow feels like yesterday....
Until next time, Happy Stitching
