My Town "The Church"

I have completed my next block for
 "My Town" Mystery Quilt...
The Church Block is one of my favourites so far.....

I just love the hinge details on the doors.....

 The windows are very cute......

And the colonial knots on the roof
line just complete the whole look.....

My little town is coming along nicely.......

I just need to get some legs and shoes on these
little guys and I will have 5 Blocks completed......

Here is a sneak peek at the block
 for August "The Florist"....
I will do some of the wool felt flowers but will
add a few of my own fabric ones as well.....
Until next time, Happy stitching

My Town Update

I must admit this "School House" block
has slowed me down a bit.....
There has been a lot of work on this one......
I have decided to backstitch the legs and
shoes instead of using buttons and cord.....
I will also use French Knots instead of beads.....
I am really happy with how the arms turned out and
have changed the hair a bit to suit my taste .....
I just wish this one was all finished so I can move on....
 Ooops!!!! I have moved on.....*Grin*
I usually prefer to finish 1 thing before moving on to another
but couldn't resist starting the "Church" block......
It has taken no time at all to get to this point.....

I really love this block....
I hope to get them both finished off soon as my latest
"Homespun" arrived in the mail the other day with
"The Florist" in it so of cause I am itching to start it as well....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Lovely Weekend....

I had some lovely visitors on the weekend
so there was not a lot of time for stitching.......
So I am going to share some pics of
a couple of oldies with you today......
First my "Debbie Mumm" Mystery quilt from 1999......
Very Scrappy made entirely from Debbie Mumm Fabrics.......
Secondly my gorgeous "Nan" who has been staying with me for 4 nights...
This is on Sunday out the front of the Mountain Tea House with 3 of
her Great Grandchildren, Jacky Mister, Cousin Caileb and Miss Molly.......
We enjoyed a lovely lunch and lots of laughs over the weekend...
She has a great sense of humour and a wicked cheeky streak.....
I miss her already.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Blooms All Done!!!

All 140 Blooms are stitched......(Happy Dance).....
They looked so nice all piled up.....
I then set about sorting them into rows that
I was happy with for the final layout.......

After much deliberation this was what I decided
they would look like when all joined together......

They now need to be joined into blocks with the
white ones added to be embroidered later......
Until next time, Happy Stitching

A Gift for Me and Some Knitting....

Just wanted to share this cute little wash cloth
that my cousin Pauline made for me.......
Tis just a tad cute....
Not sure if I will use it or just look at it....

Also I have made a bit of progress on my
 knitted Neck Warmer.......
Might get to wear it next winter if I am lucky!

"Very Easy" Layer Cake Quilt

Thought I would share this easy quilt with you all......
I liked the colours of this layer cake and was just
going to stitch them all together for a quick project....

I couldn't get a good feel for it so I
decided to cut it into charm squares.......
I added three inner borders and then another row of squares.....
I then added some outer borders.....
Belinda Betts quilted it with an all over edge to edge
paisley pattern that matched the fabric perfectly....

It is my winter snuggle quilt.......
Simple but effective.....
Just had to share this sweet cushion that the kids
got me for Cristmas a few years back.....
Bless their little hearts.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

"A Christmas Story" Finished!!!!!

My "Christmas Sory" quilt is all
finished and ready for Christmas......
Binding on and hanging rod pocket made.......
I have even got the label on.....*Grin*
My 2 inch squares look much better now that I
have unpicked them and stitched a "X" where
the  Quilter had stitched crooked squares.....
(Insert frown and swear words)
I am really happy with the end result and will
now be happy to hang it up at Christmas time.......

Until next time, Happy Stitching

Weekend Hexagon Work

I spent the weekend in Dubbo at
The Western Junoior League Basketball Finals......
Jacky Mister's team came 3rd overall and have qualified to
go to The State Cup in Tamworth in 2 weeks.....
Well Done Boys!!!!!
As I haven't been doing a lot of stitching on my
Hexagons, I thought they should came along too......
I got 16 Blooms  completed......
And now only have 6 and a bit to go! (Insert Happy Dance Here)
133 & 1/2  down and 6 & 1/2 to Go!!!!
It is still a long way from a completed quilt though.....

Suzie's Tea Cup Bag

I made this as a birthday gift for my friend Suze last year....
On my recent visit to Cobar I took some photos of it....

Flower buttons are a bit cute!!!!!

I particularly like the little stitcheries around the pockets....
This is for Suze to carry her tea cup to class or on retreat...
Until next time, Happy Stitching
