Jukejema Retreat - Part 3

I decide to work on Janelle's "Wristy" first......
A friend had given me this fat 1/4 a while ago and
I have been saving it for just the right project.......
After a bit of cutting and ruling lines......
The first stitches were sewn....Woo Hoo!!!!
A bit of quilting to finish the panels off....
Have I told you how much I love my walking foot.....
The flower was fun to make and just so simple......
Janelle was the perfect tutor....
Here she is showing off my first Retreat Finish!!!!
Janelle also signed my little creation on the lining....
Something that I will cherish....
Isn't it cute, perfect size for my embroidery hoop.....
I purchased Janelle's Decorative Tea Towels
pattern from Kim to make up a few gifts....
Until next time, Happy Stitching....

Jukejema Retreat - Part 2

Friday evening kicked off with a meet and greet with the 3
designers that Kim had organised for the weekend.....
Firstly there was the gorgeous Janelle Wind.....
Pictured above is part of the display that Janelle had set up for us.....
Here are Janelle's projects for the weekend....
A handbag and a little "Wristy".....Too Cute!
They both had these great handmade fabric flowers on
them that were just as adorable as Janelle herself....
They can be used on belts, headbands and journal covers....
The combinations were endless........
Secondly an old favourite of mine Annies Downs......
Annie's display was lovely and I just want to make it all.....
There were lots of  samples to tempt us using
Annie's new fabric range "My Favorite Things"......
Annie designed 3 projects for the weekend including a
Christmas table topper, Christmas hanging cones and
woven wool bags in 2 colour combinations.....
So many things, so little time...*Grin Grin Grin*
And our third designer was Natalie Ross.......
Nat's display featured lots of cute owls.......
The 2 projects that Nat had designed for the weekend
were a "Retreat Seat" featuring handy pockets for
 all those essential sewing supplies.......
And a "Block Keeper" to carry around all those blocks for the many
WIP's that we all have, or are about to create......
All that was left to do was to decide what to work on for the
weekend, of course I wanted to make them all....
I will catch you tomorrow and let you know what I decided....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Jukejema Retreat - Part 1

The girls and I set off Friday morning on a road trip to
Jukejema Guilting Barn's "Stitching at the waters Edge Retreat"
held at  "Waterslea" on the beautiful Shoalhaven River at Nowra........
We were just a tad excited....Yewwww!!
We stopped for lunch at Taralga at a quaint little coffee shop....
There were some gorgeous buildings there and I would have loved
to get lots of photos but is was pouring rain....
I snapped a shot of this one across the road from the coffee shop.......
We also stopped at Kangaroo Valley for afternoon tea.....
While we were there we found a great wood working shop......
 Isn't this rocking horse magnificent!!!!!!
Here are the girls inspecting the dolls houses.......
We then continued on to this little patch of paradise.....
We collected our room keys and got settled into our rooms......
While we were waiting to get let into here and meet our tutors
who were going to share our projects for the weekend we met
Kim our host for the weekend and one of my blog buddies Sandy.....
L to R - Roxanne, Sandy,Alison, Kim, Joanne & Fran.....
This is what greated us on our tables in the sewing room......
A bag of patterns and this cute little gift box....
Inside were some chocolates and this gorgeous homemade gift.....
One for all of us made by Kim's clever Mother.......
I will be back tomorrow to share more about our weekend .....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

A Finish!!!!!

Binding all finished with 1 day to spare before our retreat in Nowra
It was a bit hard to get a photo inside last night....
The colours are not great.....
Jacky Mister and Bart held it up for me....
See their feet poking out the bottom...*Grin*
 I just love mitred corners.....
It is always a great feeling to finish a quilt but I have a confession
that I also have a feeling of sadness that the process is over.......
Do you know what I mean?
Until next time, Happy Stitching

My Garden Stitchery Blocks Complete

"The Birdbath" is all stitched.....
This one has a little blue bird button.....
The blackbirds tail will need to be stitched
down after the borders are added.....
That gives me 9 completed stitcheries.......
I have trimmed them back to 51/2 inch squares......
They are now ready to have the borders added.....
But that will be another day.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching
