A Quilting first for Me!

I sandwiched my "Tis the Season" quilt and decided to stitch
in the ditch around the 12 stitcheries first....
I was then going to hand quilt it like in the patttern.......

But instead I top stitched the inner border.....
I thought that looked good so then there was no stopping me.....
I just kept going round and round until I ran out of border......
I also top stitched the individual block borders.....
This is a shot of the back....
You will not get to see it all as it puckered in a few spots....
Oh well....Who sees the back...*Grin*....
This is where I am up to at the moment.....
Waiting on some binding, a label and hanging rod....

I am feeling quite pleased with myself and am glad
that I gave it a go.....I didn't realise what a big job it would be...
I could go a nice shoulder rub at the moment....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Dusted off the Hexi Box

I thought I had better dig out the hexi's this week as they have been tucked away since the retreat and I have been keeping myself busy with retreat projects and swap projects.....
I have now joined the last 18 blocks into blooms of four with a white
centre and sorted the ones that have a white corner hexagon.......
So no more individual blooms floating around the house....
I now have three and a half rows to join together......

My Town "The Teahouse"

Block 7 of the "My Town" mystery quilt has arrived.....
The block is called "The Teahouse".....
It is another really cute block.....
I have started on a couple of the signs that will be
needle turned on after I do the other applique.....
The "Apple Pies" sign goes on the picket fence.....
'Miss Twinkle's Teas' goes on the roof......

Another Retreat Finish!

This is another finished project from  Jukejema Retreat  last month...
"Noelle Table Topper" by Annie Downs....
The rusty bells finish off the outer edge....
 Lots of cute detail.....
Seems a shame to put it away for Christmas.......
I am now stitching the circles for the three "Christmas Cones."...
These are going to look great with my "Tis the Season Quilt"
I have used the same fabrics for the Topper centre.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

A bit of Unpicking and....A SOLUTION!!!!!

I absolutely loathe unpicking but once
I got stuck into this it didn't seen to take so long.....

Perfect Circles

I wanted my appliqued circles on my "Noelle Table topper"
to be perfectly round so I cheated and stitched
light weight iron on interfacing to them.....
You need to keep the right side of the fabric and the shiny side of
the interfacing together and stitch around the drawn line......
Trim and turn right side out and finger press around the curved edge....
This gives you a perfect circle with all edges enclosed that
can then be ironed to the base of the table topper....

I repeated the process with the pieced centre....
I love the look of needle turn but get frustrated if I
can't get a nice line so I think this is a great solution.....
I then ironed the 3 layers together.....
I now just need to finish stitching them down....
 Until next time, Happy Stitching

Stitching Round in Circles....

Well one circle would be enough
but I am not there just yet.....*Grin*
There is a huge amount of stitching in this project.....
I am glad that it is stitched in only one colour....

This is what I made for Peg.....

I can now reveal what I sent to Peg for the
 "Spring Once a Season Swap"....

I made this pair of table toppers for Peg.....
They would be great on the table with a vase of flowers on them.....
Or the smaller of the two could be used as a placemat.....
I used gingham binding to keep with the table cloth feel....
It was fun to participate in this swap and I hope
Peg likes her gift as much as I liked making it for her.....

I stitched this label to the back of the large topper......
I just had a lovely email from Peg and
"Good News" Peg loves them.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching
