My Favourite Things Quilt

I have never been one for hanging quilts on the wall
because I much prefer to use them instead....
But how many quilts can a girl use at one time I ask you?
And this one is just too pretty to leave folded in a pile so
I have hung it from the picture rail in my hallway with
trouser hangers while I decide what type
of hanging device I will use here.....
It's a bit tricky getting a picture of it because it is in
the hallway, this is the view from my bedroom...
I think it needs to be a little lower when I hang it properly....
This will give you a bit of an idea of how my hallway looks,
not the best lighting there today I'm afraid....
I think maybe that wall has been screaming out for a quilt!
My Favourite Things Quilt designed by Anni Downs
and made by me with a few variations to make it my own....
2012 Stitch-a-Long organised by Chookyblue....
What do you all think?
Do you like it there?
What will I do for hanging?

Until next time, Happy Stitching Procrastinating...LOL

Definitely the right spot for your beautiful quilt. I have heard the Hang it Dang it from Punch With Judy is good.....only one hole in the wall. I've been going to try it myself for ages, as I don't have any quilts hanging either.

Your quilt looks great there. You are lucky to have picture rails. To keep it simple you could just add a hanging sleeve and sip a dowel through it and hang that with picture hooks. The dowel wouldn't be seen at all if kept to the same length as the quilt. Have fun with whatever you decide.

I agree. Your quilt is too lovely to keep folded up. It looks lovely hanging there Kate.

Since you have picture rails (lucky you) I would do as Jancie suggests - maybe make the rod pocket in several small sections so you can spread the weight and use those hook things that hang on the rail to support the rod...or if you want it lower you can make loops out of fishing line and thread the rod thru them and then loop ono the hooks.
Hope that makes sense....

this quilt definitely needs to be displayed...I need more walls in my house.

I think it looks great there, probably would be better a little lower.
