Posting 2 Swaps off Today....

I will be heading down to the Post Office this morning with

 my "Secret Santa Christmas Swap"and

my "6 Items Christmas Swap".....

It feels great to have these ready to go.....

One will be winging its way to America and

the other to sunny Queensland.....

I now have to finish my "Once a Season Summer Swap"

and post it by the 1st of December....

It has been great weather for sewing this week with

torrential rain, blustery winds and cold temperatures.....

I think Mother Nature has lost the plot!!!!!

 Combined with natural linen, ric rac and pearl buttons....

To create something for my "Once a Season Summer Swap Partner"

SSCS Finished!

To the Quilter I Go.....

To hand or machine quilt????

That has been the question at my house for quite

some time and I have decided to get the clever

 Belinda Betts to custom quilt my "Hexagon Quilt"......

I have been pondering over it for weeks and

 now the decision has been made.......

I love nothing more than the excitement of picking up a finished quilt....

Belinda does a fantastic job so it is sort of a reward for me....

All bagged up and delivered to Belinda.....

I am on a waiting list so it will be quite some

 time before we see it again...... I can't wait....

Beyond Measure Binding on.....

I have stitched the binding onto my sewing mat......

 It is a very narrow binding so it was a bit fiddly.....

It is all pinned now and waiting to be hand stitched down....

What a Great Day!

Here I am with the very Clever Roslyn Mirrington from "Bloom"....

It was the first time we met and we worked out that

 we live less than 5 minutes from each other....

And this is Ros's pattern that we were working on yesterday......

 

The day started out with a lovely gift from Ros to all of us....

Thanks again Ros it was very thoughtful of you.....

 

This is a close up of the pocket panel and the magnetic clips

 that my "Thread Catcher" will be held on with.....

That's when I make it of course.....*Grin*....

We all agreed that we should have another day

 to get the whole three projects completed....

And here we all are with our "Sewing Mat" so far.....

I am loving my new mat so far and look forward to putting my machine

on it and filling up those little pockets with all of my bits and pieces.....

 

Thanks again Ros for a great day of sewing, fun and friendship.....

All that's left to do is make the binding and

 sew it on and my mat will be finished.....

Then I can start on the pin cushion and thread catcher....

"Beyond Measure" Sewing Day.....

I can't think of a better way to spend the day today than sewing....

And that is what I will be doing....

I will be spending my day at Marally Craft sewing the following:-

 I am planning on using this natural linen combined with my gorgeous

 "Favorite Things" fabric by Anni Downs.....

I will be working on a Machine Mat, Thread Catcher and Pincushion...

 I will also get to meet the designer Roslyn Mirrington from "Bloom"...

Watch this space for a progress report tomorrow and

 if I am a really good student maybe even a finish.....

Look what I got in the Post!

I just love it when I go home for lunch

 and find parcels' in my mailbox!!!!

I joined the Oz Material Girls Christmas in July Swap and this is

 what I received from my swap partner Janis from New Zealand....

 A Handmade basket full of goodies.....

A cute little stitchery in a pink case for me to stitch.....

 A Notebook for my handbag.....Very handy....

 Janis has done a great job on my Christmas Bag.....

I hope you have a lovely Christmas Janis and

 thankyou so much I just loved my bag and goodies.....

I had better get busy with my Christmas sewing.....

Inspired!

After gate crashing the Punch Needle Class at The Home Patch

 on Saturday I came home inspired.....

So on Sunday morning I dug out a little

project that had been pushed to the back of the cupboard....

 I just needed to tuck the fabric behind and stitch

it down so it was ready to pop in the frame.....

 The design was one of Anni's from her

little book of stitcheries "Simple Pleasures"......

How cute does this look all framed up.......

I must do some more of these....

Also a bit of Secret Santa Swap business going on at my place

 and it just kills me not to be able to show you all.....

Miss Molly's First Car

Last Friday Miss Molly bought her first car......

She is a Cherry Red Subaru Imprezza and as you can see by

 the pic my girl is pretty impressed with herself.....

 Molly has named her "Poppy" because she is red and

came to live with us on Rememberance Day.....

My girl has been saving her pennies and it has paid

 off for her because she now has her own wheels.....

She said to me, I have got one word for you Mum...."Cruisin"

Please God Give me strength and look after my baby on the road.....

Well Done Miss Molly I am very proud of you....

Our Bloggers Day Out in Bathurst

I had the best day yesterday in Bathurst.......

Alison(No Blog) and I set off and arrived at The Home Patch at

10.30 ish to find Chooky, Sandy and Anita waiting for us......

Deb and Khris were out in the classroom

participating in a Punch Needle Class with Anni.....

 So what was left for the five of us to do....Shop! Of Cause.....

Anni showed us a sneak peak of her new Christmas

 range that will be released in May 2012.....

I tried to stuff the samples in my handbag but she caught me....Drat....

Here are the girls looking a little

 naughty happy with the merchandise......

 We had to keep a close eye on Chooky who looked a

 bit suspicious with that bolt of fabric under her arm....

I thought she was going to sneak it out to the car.....Lol.....

 At 1pm when the class was over we all headed off to

Crepes' Royale for lunch where we sat out

 on the verandah and Chooky gave Anita a quick lesson

 in paper piecing while we waited for our food.........

Tried to stuff it in my handbag but she caught me.....Drat Again!!!!

 Some of the girls had dessert and they looked delicious....

Anita with her chocolate and ice cream filled crepes.....Yummo....

 Deb had Sticky Date Pudding....

One of my favourites but as I am on a quest to

 get by bikini body ready for summer I resisted....

BA HA!!! Yeah I know wishful thinking.....

 Chooky had an ice cream snowball filled with

marshmallow and meringue.....MmMmmmm....

So our day was filled with Chatting, Shopping, Chatting, Laughing,

Chatting, Eating and also a bit of Chatting.....

Thanks girls for a fantastic day, It was so lovely to meet you

all and I hope we can all get together again soon.....

Bloggers Day Out....

No Sewing to show today because I am getting ready to head off

to Bathurst with my friend Alison to meet up with

Chooky, Sandy, Anita, Khris and Deb......

We will be doing some retail therapy at "The Home Patch"

 and then off to "Crepes Royale" for lunch......

Another Finish for "My Town"

Last night I finished my "Teahouse Block......

I made a few small changes on this one......

I couldn't cope with a cat on the table for starters.....

So I added a tea set.....

 I think my hydrangeas look a bit like bunches of grapes....Lol.....

 The flowers above the awning look really cute....

I decided not to use the tea pot and cup cake buttons

 that Bronwyn used in her original block....

The only button I used was a red star on the umbrella.....

 And I stitched the goodies in the window....

Doesn't that apple pie look delicious....Mmmmm.....

 I still need to add bows on either side of the

curtains but I thought I would do that later....

That's 7 blocks down and 2 to go.......

The "Town Hall" is next......
