Craft and Quilt Show Road Trip-Part 1

I set off from Orange at 5am on Friday morning to meet up
with my travelling buddies for the day in Lithgow,
so we could continue on our journey to Sydney....
I spent a lovely day with Deb and Susan.....
Here we are out the front of Anni's stall at the Fair....
I was a Craft and Quilt show virgin so imagine
my delight when I saw all of this......
And these!!!!!!
Here I am with Sue Daley.....
I was very excited to meet Sue as I wanted to go to
"Girls Day in the Country" in May but a family wedding
prevented me from going and meeting her....
I enjoyed a bit of retail therapy with Sandy....
Oops! Back at Anni's stall again....
The quilts were amazing and I wish I could
show you them all but there were just so many....
So here are just a few...
I even found one that Bart would have liked....
Can you see all the horses quilted around the edge....
Just amazing....
4pm and time to rest those weary legs and have a cuppa
and something sweet with the sweet Chookyblue....
The girls and I in the car park wondering how we are
going to fit my shopping bag in the car....Ha ha!
Selfies in the car on the way home....
We said our goodbyes in Lithgow and
I set off on the rest of my journey....
10pm saw me park my car in the garage at home and
head inside for a cuppa and well earned sleep....
Stay tuned to see my posts about the
"Bloggers Meet Up"and "My Purchases"
Until next time, Happy Stitching

My Last SKOW Block "Bird Block"

This is my last block for the SKOW
"My Favourite Things Quilt" Stitch-a-long.....
It was supposed to be the "Bird Block" which was
cute but as I love going to a good movie,
I thought this would be more appropriate....

I have had fun creating some unique to me blocks for my quilt...
And what's a trip to the movies without Pop Corn.....
I am now going to put them aside until I have an uninterrupted
day at home to get some of the strips joined up.....
I am off to Young to watch Jacky Mister play AFL today so
I will have to tell you all about The Quilt Show later.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

SKOW "Tree Block"

This block has been a bit of a marathon effort....
I didn't think I would ever get all those petals stitched....
I am so glad that I am not doing needle turn!
I have put one of my new sewing tins to good use
while stitching this block and the padded top
doubles as a great pin cushion....
Thanks again Suzie Black....Mwa!
No cat for me under my tree....
I added these flowers from one of the stitcheries
in Anni's new book "The Simple Life"....
The birdie is a bit cute....
So nice to see this one all finished.....
This means 1 block left for me to stitch....
"Birdsong" Hmmmm....not sure what I will do with that one yet!
Here they are ready to be trimmed to size,
but we can't rush these things.....Lol...

Until next time, Happy Stitching

SKOW "Cat Block"

I know what you are thinking....
She has done it again and
"Where's the Cat"
Well I am not much of a cat lover....
But shopping, well that is high up there on the list....Ha ha!
So this is the block that I have substituted for my "Cat Block"....
Have any of you changed some blocks to suit your personality?
I would love to hear your ideas....
Stitching with the girls at Alison's tonight....Yay!

SKOW "Sun Block"...

I know what you are thinking.....
This doesn't look like a sun!!!
Well as much as I like lovely sun shiny days, I reallty don't
like sunshine on my face because it gives me freckles...ha ha....
But I do truly love "Christmas Pudding" especially
when it is made by my Nan or my Aunty....
So this was the inspiration for my block....
Wow only 3 blocks left to stitch....
Cat, Bird and Tree... Hmm what to do with those....
I hope you are all having a lovely long weedkend....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Winter Wonderland Swap

Our Private online stitching group has just completed another swap....
"Winter Wonderland"
And this is what I sent to my partner Marcia...
A hexagon "Mug Rug"
My first ever mug rug, could be the first of many....
Hot Chocolate, Marshmallows and one of my favourite mugs....
This green mug inspired my whole gift.....
Do you ever do crazy things like that?
Start with a cup and design a whole gift around it....
I also made Marcia a matching "Table Runner"..
I was tempted to keep it for myself....ha ha!
I used a charm pack called "Symphony"
I thought the colours looked rich and warm
which is what we need this weather.....
I also popped in a block of lindt chocolate because
you can never have too much chocolate.....
Enjoy your goodies Marcia....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

 I love it!
And wish I had one just the same....
Well it is "My" Favourite things quilt after all....
I have a couple of more changes planned also....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Sewing Block Mini Quilts

A cold wet and miserable weekend saw me in my sewing room
getting a little bit done on my favourite things quilt.....
I sewed the Mini Quilts for the Sewing Block...
What was that crazy woman thinking they are so cute Anni....
Very fiddly but oh so cute when they were finished....
After a relaxing cuppa I stitched the little lovelies on....
So that's another completed block....
That leaves me with 6 to go!!!!
I am going to change the next 6 a little to suit my favourite things...
I might even start joining some strips together soon!!!!
Can't rush these things....Ha ha....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

The Simple Life

I haven't had a chance to get to "The Home Patch" just lately
and was delighted when my friend Alison sent me
a text to say she was going there......
She picked me up a copy of Anni's new book
"The Simple Life" Thanks Alison xo
There are lots of cute projects inside and this is my favourite...
I know just the person to makes this for....
And one for myself as well....*Grin*
Congratulations to Anni on another masterpiece....
