My New Look

A couple of weeks ago I changed my profile picture....
 I guess I couldn't be 38 forever so I thought I had better
update to a 43 year old picture of myself....
I then decided I should change my
colour scheme to match my picture....
I chose a background that seemed a bit familiar
but anyway I liked the look and went with it....
I have since realised that it was the same as
 the Stitch-a-long background. Hmmm!
So I have had another fiddle and this is what I have come up with....
The background is called "Molly"
How could I resist....
So this is my new look...
I hope you like it and still drop by to see
what I have been up to from time to time...
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Now what to do with the corner blocks?

This is a picture of what the four corner blocks
should look like for "My Town"
I am just not sure what I want to do with mine yet....
This is what I am up to....
I have cut all the strips and pinned them but
am still trying to decide what to put on them.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

My Town Home Block

I finally finished the stitching on my home block yesterday.....
Trimmed it back to 20 inches ready to add the borders.....
Not the best pics as I took them last night....
I think I will stitch a vine and flowers around the verandah post....
What do you think?????
I also added a small border to frame the block
before I sewed on the three rows of squares....
I am much happier with this block than I would
have been with the one in the Homespun Magazine.....
This is a pic of the one from the original quilt.....
I just think it all seemed to get lost in there....

Until next time, Happy Stitching

Stitching and Baking

Last night after the basketball run I tried out
my new stick on thimble pads......
They are genius and my finger feels much better today....
Appliqued my gate and am now up to the part that I love the most....
Adding the details.....
Oh and late night stitching would not be complete
without a cuppa and a piece of cake....
This is a yummy carrot and walnut cake
that I baked on Sunday afternoon....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Fence Posts Stitched

I managed to get my 22 fence post stitched last night...
I am now working on the gate....
That is not quite finished because I seem to have lost my
thimble and now have a hole in my finger from all the
stitching that I did over the weekend, so it is off to
the quilt shop at lunch time for a new thimble...Haha...

Until next time, Happy Stitching

My Town Home Block

The sun is shining here today and it feels like spring again.....
The last few days have been cold and wet so
I have spent a little bit of time stitching by the fire....

I have been working on the centre block for "My Town" quilt...
All the applique is done on the house and trees.....
I hope to get some of the fence done later this afternoon.....
It is too nice a day today to stay inside, even if I am
out mowing the lawns and pegging washing on the line......
This is my block so far.....
I hope to own a cute little house like that one day.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Retreat Day

On Saturday I was lucky to be able to spend
the day with a fabulous group of ladies.....

Jo(Assistant Host), Roxanne, Fran(Our Host), Jan & Lorraine...
Suzie(My Bestie from Cobar) & Bev....
After lots of excitement, chatting , cups of tea
and slice we got into some sewing for the day....
I was working on the thread catcher to match the
"Bloom" Sewing Mat that I prepared earlier....

And here is the finished product!
I really wanted to finish it as I had decided to give
the set to Suze for her Birthday which is today....
"Happy Birthday to my dear friend"
She had no idea and was so surprised when we all sang
"Happy Birthday" to her complete with a mini birthday cake
and then I said what's a birthday without a
present and gave her the Sewing Set.....
And yes there were hugs and tears were shed....
She loved it and I know she will put it to
good use in her sewing room back home....
What a wonderful day/evening we had....
A big THANKS to Fran and Jo for being the
perfect hosts for the day and to all the ladies
for welcoming Suze and keeping my secret....
Until next time, Happy Stitching
