Shopping at The Home Patch

On my last visit to the Home Patch I was admiring
these lovely samples that Anni has on display.....
If you look carefully you will see Anni's favourite things quilt
on the wall in the background and to the right you can just
make out her daisy quilt from the SKOW book....
Oooops I have the kit for that also...He He...
I have admired them many times if the truth be known....
So when I arrived home I had this nice little collection with me...
The Monogram pattern and some supplies....
I think they will be lovely gifts.....
These 2 fat quarter rolls also came home with me
of Lynette Anderson's new fabric range....
I have no idea what I will do with them yet....
I woke to a heavy fog this morning so
it should turn out to be a lovely day....
I am off to the hairdresser this morning to get rid of the silvers
and then lunch with a friend and then drinks with Bart tonight....
Enjoying my last days before I am back to work on Monday :(
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Cooking School with Suze

I was lucky to have my bestie Suze visit me from Cobar
in March for a few days and while she was here we had a
night out at The Orange Regional Cooking School....
Our host Lesley Russell did not disappoint with her delicious food.....
We started with a glass of wine and potato bread with local
olive oil, fresh figs, prosciutto and parmesan....
Sorry I didn't get a pic of the starter....
Next was this salad of the season with yellow peaches, watercress,
torn buffalo mozzarella, hazelnuts and crisped shaved bacon....
This was so delicious....
The main was chargrilled lamb steaks with
shaved fennel, mashed white beans, parsley and lemon
with oven roasted potatoes on the side.....
And another glass of local wine....
Dessert was light yoghurt and semolina cake with fresh
strawberries and brown sugared sour cream....
I was in culinary heaven....
Lesley had made some oven roasted pasta sauce that was
on display and she kindly told me how to do it so
I made some myself at home the following week.....
It is so flavoursome....
This is Lesley in the overhead mirror preparing our dessert....
Best way to cook I say....
Sitting sipping on wine and watching and then eating the results....
It was a fantastic way to spent the evening with a friend....
Until next time, Happy Eating and Stitching

SKOW - 5 Completed Blocks

I have spent a bit of time on my lounge
stitching during the school holidays and it has
been nice to get back into my SKOW quilt......
I wish all those blocks were finished.....
After completing the applique for the first row I ironed
on some vilene so I could stitch the words and detail.....
I now have a completed Tea Cup Block....
Patty Cakes Block....
Umbrella Block that I added a bit of extra detail to.....
Yay! Go me! That's 5 completed blocks ready to be joined together.....
Suitcase Block......
This one got out of order.....
Blogger doesn't like me at the moment and
is taking a long time to load photos.....
Maybe because I have neglected him for so long.....
I am now busy working on the second row and
will hopefully join them all together soon....
So there is a bit of progress Chooky.....
I know dismal but getting there....*Grin*
Until next time, Happy Stitching

My Town Hall

I thought I had better dig out the blocks for "My Town"
quilt or I will never get my little town finished.....
I have almost completed the "Town Hall" Block....
It is ready to have the topiary trees stitched....
But do you think I can find the Homespun Magazine!!!!! Grrr!
I am hoping it is at Alison's house....
I have also made a decision on the centre "Home" block....
I will be using this Hatched and Patched Pattern for
my block because the other one has not grown on me....
Now off to find that Homespun!
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Lunch, Antiques, SKOW and Autumn

I had a lovely afternoon in Millthorpe
yesterday for Alison's Birthday Lunch.....
Here is a pic of Alison, her Mum, her 3 Daughters and 3 friends....
It was nice to have a look through the many
little shops that Millthorpe has to offer.....
I am so excited because I found this gorgeous
old church window in the antique shop.....
I am going to hang it on the wall at home....
 Also this little jug.....
Look at the lines and cracks in this little beauty....
I bet it could tell some stories....
This cute little frame that the kids asked me if it was vintage....
I said yes and so is the little girl in it now.....
Was I really that small....Ha ha...
So whilst watching Titanic with Miss Molly last night I
finally finished my first block for SKOW .....
And in the spirit of travel I started stitching
the words on my holiday block....
I was driving down this street on the way out of town
and just had to stop and get a pic of the lovely Autumn colours .....
Orange is just a mixed colour palette at the moment
and I feel blessed to be living here....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

My Wardrobe & it's New Home

I removed the old buckled roof and floor from my fixer upper wardrobe
and I popped into Bunnings and got 2 new ones cut to size.....
After some no idea what I am doing expert hammering with no thumbs
damaged in the process I had a nice new straight floor and roof.....
A coat of wood gel to take away the starkness of the new shelving.....
Then it was time to hammer the back on again.....
It was kind of like a big jig saw puzzle.....
Here she is ready to have the door screwed back into place....
And this is her new home.....
Perfect fit and perfect match.....
Isn't this an adorable room....
It is one of the bedrooms in our new 1920's Californian Bungalow.....
Our first investment property.....
We may move into it when we are empty nesters.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Slow and Steady Wins the Race!

Well maybe not but at least I managed some
stitching last night on my SKOW project......
Patty Cakes just don't make the cut in our house unless
they have icing so I added some to my block.....
A little late night snack to keep the stitching fingers nourished.*Grin*
Here are my cupcakes ready for some backstitching be added....
I didn't feel like ironing the backing on last night to do the
words so I started work on my "Old Blue Jeans Block"
I hope you all had a safe and Happy Easter
and managed to get some stitching done.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Easter Swap "Lets Stitch Together"

My online stitching group had an Easter
swap and this is what I sent to Peg......
These colours just scream Easter to me and because the runner
has cupcakes on it Peg can use it all year round.....
I included some Easter Patty papers so Peg
can make her own Easter Cupcakes.....
I also popped in some Chocolate Eggs and a Bunny....
And a fat quarter that reminded me of Easter....
And these cute plastic eggs that I popped some bits and pieces
into that I am sure Peg will make good use of....
This was a fun swap....
And Peg was very happy with her goodies.....
All wrapped up in an Easter Basket and
ready to head off to Peg's house....
I hope you all have a Happy and Safe Easter.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching
