Worcestershire Sauce, Lemons and Knitting

I am having a Market stall on the 8th so I have
been busy cooking up some supplies....
No rest for the wicked!
A Pickled on Peisley favourite...."Worcestershire Sauce"
This is my little lemon tree that I planted last year, I had to
espalier it onto this lattice because it was getting very top
heavy, I lost 2 lemons in the process but still
managed a nice yield for my first year...
My first big harvest.a bakers dozen, they were so full of juice!
Straight into the pot with some freshly laid eggs from my
girls and whipped up into a batch of yummy Lemon Butter
another Pickled on Peisley favourite...
Only crafty thing happening so far this week other than fabric
toppers for my jars has been some Nanna Knitting....
I purchased this skein of 20 ply yarn in Nundle....
Big fat needles ready to go....
I started off with this leaf patterned scarf but felt
the wool was not quite right for this one....
I think I will save this pattern for a different yarn....
I unravelled it and started a Chunky Rib scarf/cowl instead....
A nice quick knit and oh so warm and cosy, this finished
picture shows the colour better because it was taken outside...
Should go great with jeans and a warm top...
It was nice to have the needle clicking again....
Stay warm lovely ladies....

Until next time, Happy Stitching

Dresden Love

Firstly I ask you....WHY Have I never done Dresden's????
I love love love love them!!!!
This could be the beginning of a new addiction.....
My name is Kate and I have a problem.....LOL
Soooooo cute and so therapeutic to make, I just plugged
away on them and now have the whole 6 constructed and
pinned to the blocks waiting to be stitched down. the pattern
says to machine stitch them but I am tossing up wether to
hand stitch them down....What do you think or what have
you done? Maybe I could hand stitch the points and
machine the circles???? So many decisions!
This is my Sunday afternoon in pictures.....
Beautiful all lined up waiting to be stitched....
I'm really loving this quilt....
Thanks for stopping by, it's been nice to be blogging a bit
lately and achieving some results as well....

Until next time, Happy Stitching

Vintage Modern Quilt Progress

This is where my vintage Modern Dresden Quilt has
been since arriving home from The Chook Shed in June.
Sitting in pieces on my design wall waiting for
some attention. I got to enjoy some long overdue time
in my little sewing Studio over the weekend and
decided to join all the coloured blocks into rows....
The fabrics are by Bonnie and Camille
for Moda and are so fresh and lovely....
I pinned them all first and here's Bernie ready to go....
The blocks and rows are now all joined together....Yay!
Now it's time to play with these bits
 and make my first Dresden....
They can't be that hard....can they? Wish me luck!

Until next time, Happy Stitching

Off Centre Retreat Quilt Complete

Wow this time last week I was at the cottage on the Hill in
Nundle at a Quilting Retreat stitching with some lovely
ladies, I almost finished my quilt top while I was there....
All that was needed were the 4 outer linen borders so
yesterday I headed out to my Sewing Studio and
 set about finishing it off....
I just love my sewing space and wish
I had more time to play out there.....
The borders are on and I am so in love with the colours and
fabrics in this quilt, the pattern is one of Kerry Swains
own designs "Off Centre" The most time is spent on the
zig zag panel, the rest comes together a lot quicker....
I gave it all a really good iron....
Then out to my side verandah for a quick photo shoot.....
Here is my flimsy flapping in the breeze....Gorgeous!
Don't you just love the stained glass effect from the back.....
Someone's been playing in my Studio said the
Mumma Bear and he has left a few friends behind!!!!
Ha Ha Jacky Mister getting creative making fabric dollies....
Happy Sunday!

Until next time, Happy Stitching

A Snugly Finish

I have a very warm snuggly finish to show you today....
My "Apple Harvest" Flannel fabric Quilt...
With the weather we have been having I think my
Chickens might just like me to leave it on their coop
to keep them toasty and warm....
I tried to photograph the full length but it was too long and
dragged on the ground when I pegged it out on the line....
This is the back view with a scrappy strip....
Cute Pumpkin Quilting to bring it all together....
A close up of the Scrappy Strip....
The Front View....
And a close up, such rich colours and gorgeous fabrics....
I collected some eggs whilst doing my photo shoot, usually
the girls go off the lay in the Winter but lucky for me I
am still collecting lovely fresh eggs....
This quilt is for my Tall boy Jacky Mister to snuggle
under when he is watching TV, I used it myself
last night and it is really warm and cosy.....

Until next time, Happy Stitching

FHFS My Gift to Michelle

Our "Friends Having Fun Stitching" Group have just
exchanged our second of 4 swaps for the year,
a Ruler Cover and it was my turn to send to Michelle....
Michelle likes Tim Tams and Lindt Chocolates
so I popped some into the parcel...
Michelle requested a cover for her 12 by 6 and 1/2
inch ruler, she likes vintagey fabrics and the designer
Anni Downs so I chose a Punch needle design by
Anni to add to the Ruler Cover....
I also included one of Anni's notepads, you can never have too
many notepads especially if they are Anni Downs notepads!

Michelle also likes pinks and greens so I hope that she likes
the fabric I chose with blue and yellow also thrown in...
I love all the colours in this and hope Michelle does also...
I quilted the cover  and added some measuring tape ribbon...
I also added a hanging loop to the cover so Michelle
can hang it up if she likes....
I kind of liked how it looks hanging in my studio on
the knob of my vintage buffet and hutch.....
I wanted to keep it for a moment Michelle but
remembered that I had made it especially for you...
Enjoy my Friend.....
Our next swap is due in October and is a Wool Swap
so I had better get my thinking cap on for that one....
Can't tell you who I am sending to yet because it's a secret!

Until next time, Happy Stitching

FHFS My Gift from Peg

Our "Friends Having Fun Stitching Group" have just
sent and received our second swap for the year...
This one was a Ruler cover swap and we usually do not know
who we are receiving from until it arrives...
I was lucky enough to have my friend Peg sending to me and
she was a bit concerned because she had not heard from me....
I had an email from Peg yesterday asking me if I had received
a parcel from her last week....
EEK! No I hadn't and over a week is far too long for mail
to get from Peg to myself, upon investigation from Peg via
Australia Post tracking we discovered the parcel was still sitting
at the Post Office awaiting collection and when I enquired today,
the reason was the house number wasn't clear enough for them.
I thought it seemed clear enough but anyway... Yay!
Crisis averted and parcel collected....
So instead of having that 60 seconds of excitement from the mail
box/front door to the table inside to open my parcel, I have had
almost 24 hours to get excited about what Peg had sent me.....
It ALMOST looked too pretty to unwrap but unwrap I did!!!!
Wow! Wow! Wow! Wow and WOW!
Thanks Peg I Looooooove my ruler cover.....
It has been made to fit my 12 inch by 6 and a half inch ruler...
When I flip it over it has a pocket for my smaller 6 and a half
inch square ruler also, gorgeous Peg!
I wish I had thought of doing that on the one I made....
This lovely stitchery...
"Where there is Love there is Life"
AND THEN I found this as well, a project bag!!!!!
Feeling Super spoilt at this stage I must say....
But wait there's More!!!!!
Stuffed inside the project bag were some
Salted Caramel Lindt Chocolates, embroidery scissors and
2 threads in lovely shades for me to play with....
Can you feel my Grin?????
So lovely and so generous Peg, you have made my Day.....
Mwah! Mwah! Mwah! Mwah!
"Don't Look for the Inspiration, be the Inspiration"
Perfect words for Peg and I because Peg is the lady
that first inspired me to start my Blog back in 2011 because her
Blog "Happy in Quilting" was so full of inspiration for me.....
And Chookyblue has kept the whip cracking
on me ever since to keep it going....
I can't wait to put my rulers in my new Ruler Holder....

Thanks again Peg, you are amazing my friend and I am so thankful to
yourself and Shez for including me in this group....

Until next time, Happy Stitching
