Happy 1st Birthday Hadley
Yesterday we got together to celebrate
Little Miss Hadley's 1st Birthday....
There's nothing like having a quilt ready to gift over a
month before the event and then sitting the night
before stitching on the label.....Lol!
Hadley had the best time opening her presents....
Such concentration and excitement....
And here she is sitting on her Birthday Quilt.....
She looks pretty pleased with herself.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Wednesday's Studio Progress
My little Studio is progressing slowly along and I hope
you are all enjoying taking this journey with me...
Yesterday we completed the plasterboard on the ceiling and
all the architraves, skirting and trims....
The shape of the ceiling took a lot more time
but it sure looks cute now it is up.....
I even progressed to nail gun operator.....Yew go me!!!!!
I also wanted to share my new daffodil blooms with you.....
This is called "Shirley Ann" my new bulbs purchased in
Rydal last weekend at the daffodil festival....
The name of one of my favourite Aunts so had to have some...
I am not sure who's enjoying the school holidays
more, me or the girls.....
They have been out exploring the yard all day every day.....
Next step in my little studio is the plastering on the ceiling
and fitting out the electrical power points/lights etc....
Waiting on the professionals for those who
wont be here until next week....
Then it will be my turn to putty and paint.....
A great day topped off with a game of monopoly with my
2 favourites that I won......Finally!
Its only taken me 18 years to beat Jacky Mister.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Tuesday's Studio Progress
First job yesterday morning for me was the start of the ceiling
insulation, the ceiling will be the shape of a barn roof....
All of the roof trusses were a bit out of whack but Rosco added
timber noggins throughout to fix the plasterboard to,
The last wall panel was installed around the window....
Then it was on with some plasterboard.....
Last job tonight before we ran out of daylight
was a part of the wide skirting....Love it!!!!!
Then it was inside for long hot showers,
a Roast Lamb dinner and time to cook up a big batch of my
"Pickled on Peisley" Lemon Butter....
Rosco's Favourite and a guarantee that he will
come back one day and do another job for me....
Very excited to see how much further we get today....Yay!
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Monday's Studio Progress
I spent the best day yesterday with my builder Rosco and his lovely wife Zena.....
I was the apprentice Insulation Installer!
The brand is called Earth Wool and was easy to install...
Very natural feeling....
I am feeling like a bit of a pro installer but I must
say it made me itchy by the time I got around all the sides....
And then Yay! My Builder Rosco nailed
up the first sheet of wall paneling.....
Insert happy dance here and lots of excitement and itching....Lol!
The back and end walls are now all complete.....
I had lots of fun being the trades assistant yesterday....
The barn style ceiling requires a bit of extra
framework to fix the plasterboard to.....
Rosco is pretty clever so I am sure he will fix that up easily...
We worked our way around to this section today and one
more sheet was added leaving just one to go.....
We had to stop at around 5.30pm cause we were out of sufficient
light so that will be first job today...........
This was my little Studio last night....
Proof there is progress happening this week....
And it is....Yay Yay Yay!
Well must go as we are working on the last sheet and all the door
and window trims today and the start of the plasterboard ceiling...
Oh and my promotion to Ceiling Insulation expert.....
I feel itchy already!!!!
Have a great day and stay tuned for the next progress post....

Weekend Garden Makeover
The Weather over the weekend was perfect in Orange....
I am officially on School Holidays for 2 weeks and as with all
holidays I have set myself far too many goals and
may be lucky to achieve only a few of them.....
With that said I have one of them ticked off the list...
My side garden bed makeover....
Here are some before pictures, I have removed everything except
the hot water system and the Crepe Myrtle tree...
I already had a foam box full of Daffodil Bulbs that I had dug out
of the front yard in a previous makeover and 5 Rose Bushes...
I then took a trip to Bell River Nursery and came home
with 18 English Box Hedge plants....
Had some Mini Pine Bark delivered.....
I planted the Roses across the back of the bed and spaced out my
hedges(this involved a tape measure so it's almost like quilting)
Then it was plant plant plant and mulch mulch mulch....
I know it is not the time to be planting bulbs but they
haven't flowered yet so I am hoping they will be happy.....
They have survived on the verandah steps in a white foam
box for about 15 months with little TLC so
I hope they will be happier in the ground....
I will now have to be patient and wait a few years to achieve
the look I am wanting but I think you will get the idea.....
Rose bushes across the back bordered with a nice formal hedge
and daffodils popping up in the centre for seasonal colour......
I hope you all had a lovely weekend.....
Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my journey of
making my little patch of the world my home....
PS I hope to have some progress to show you
this week in my Sewing Studio....
All going well walls and ceiling will be lined...
Yay! Happy Days!
Until next time, Happy Stitching

13 Year Ride Ends!
Fast Forward to last night(And it really feels like it has all happened in fast forward, if only we had a rewind button) I attended his Graduation Mass.....
And today I watched him walk into his Graduation assembly and stand tall and proud(not quite as proud as his Mumma)
He stood before the school and spoke beautifully
for the last time as the Vice Captain.....
Presented a parting gift to the Principal.....
Received his Graduation certificate and a folder full of other
awards and a reference that I could only dream about.....
The whole school formed a guard of honor and one of
the teachers sang The Sheahan song as the
James Sheahan Year 12 Class of 2014
exited Mercy Hall for the final time.....
By this time I was quietly standing taking photos
and sobbing like a baby, wishing mine back....
But as you can see by this pic my babies are all grown up.....
They couldn't teach him to totally behave because in this photo he
had just licked the side of his sisters face....Ha Ha
Secretly she loves it!!!!
So tonight I am exhausted, happy, sad, excited, terrified
but most of all extremely proud of the gorgeous young man
that my little Jacky Mister has grown into....
Excluding the last pic!
Off to bed for a much needed sleep.....
Thanks for reading and indulging me in a proud Mumma moment....
