Road Trip to Carinda Part 2

This is where we spent Saturday sewing, eating,
chatting and eventually drinking the day away.....
I decided to work on "My Town" quilt so my first job was
to cut a lot of 1 inch strips to border my blocks......
I then set about stitching some on.....
Before we knew it the morning tea call went out....
These are some of the lovely homemade
biscuits that the ladies had prepared.....
Alison was busy adding borders to a UFO quilt
that she started  at Carinda about 3 years ago.....
And here she was with the big reveal....
A finished quilt top before lunch.....Oops!
One border still to go....Ha Ha!
And again with the border on.....
Doesn't it look great?
Meanwhile I was still working on my little borders.....
I was a bit distracted meeting and chatting with all the lovely
ladies and having a look at the projects they were working on......
This was my result when the lunch bell went......
Lunch was lovely homemade pumpkin soup with fresh
bread rolls and delicious curry chicken and rice.....
It tasted so good that I forgot to get a picture....
I could have then spent the afternoon asleep
out under a tree because I was so full.....
But instead I started joining 21/2 inch squares
for the borders of my Home Block.....
4 o'clock turned into wine o'clock and
this is my pile of squares coming together.....
See you all tomorrow with Part 3.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Kate
