A few finishes and a Bum Plum

Here I am again with the final touches to my corner sewing
bench, first up this was to put these white
knobs on the drawers. They are far more user friendly than
the original ones. That little corner spot will be another
open shelf unit when my last flat pack arrives next week.....
Next job was to install 2 of these for the cords to go through...
I had 4 drill bits for holes and of cause the largest one was not
quite large enough so off I went to Bunnings to get one....
Who'd of thought they would be so expensive....$30 for one!!!
Luckily I tend to shop around and
found this set at Mitre 10 for $10...Bargain
We have Spotlight in Orange these days and it happens to be
right next door to Bunnings, I popped in there for some
ric rac for a project I am working on and left with a pack each
of ribbons, twine, ric rac and washi tapes....
RRP well over $80 and I only paid $36 for the lot...
Gotta love a good baragin :)
Could've bought more but got outa there as quick as I could....

Then it was home to put my drill bits to work....
Marked where I wanted the first hole....
Taped to try and reduce splintering of the melamine....
And drilled to my hearts content....
I love it when things just work...
And there we have it, a perfect hole....
Popped in the plastic duct unit...
Yay! Looking Good!
Repeated the process for my Sewing Machine.....
So minus the corner shelf unit at this stage the rest is
finished and ready for a long overdue sewing session....
I picked this support leg up at Ikea last week so set
about installing it under the middle of my
cutting table for a bit of extra support....
It was very simple to do, just 5 screws and an
adjustment of height and it is ready to go....
I also added some wheels to the bottom of this old crate to
make some mobile magazine storage....
Perfect for my Country Style Magazine Collection!
This bare wall is calling for some type of shelving/storage
but the jury is still out as to what I'll do there ...
I ended my afternoon at a friends house picking
plums from her overflowing tree...
I just had to share this pic with you, I'm thinking Mother Nature
was thinking of Kim Kardashian's bum when she threw
this one into the mix....Ha Ha Ha!
I won't be doing anything with these tonight because pardon
the pun but I am "plum" tuckered out!!!!
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for sharing in the process
that is setting up my sewing studio, it means a lot to me that
I can share and hopefully inspire you to have
a go at a bit of DIY yourselves...
I am loving it and surprising myself every day....

Its off to bed for me now as it's been a big weekend,
I will post this in the morning. Have a great week!

Until next time, Happy Stitching

Kate

I don't think you'll ever want to leave your sewing room. It's really a home away from home! You've done a wonderful job, Kate. Now enjoy it.
