Winter Wonderland

Last night while we were all tucked up in our warm beds
under a snuggly quilt, Mother Nature was busy
giving us a good sprinkling of snow and this pretty
scene is what I woke to this morning.
Snow days always make me feel so happy.
I am not sure how happy my poor chickens were about
it so I mixed them up a nice warm batch of
 chicken porridge for breakfast.
So at 7am I was out in my gum boots and dressing
gown snapping pics and feeding the girls....
I know! I Must be mad....I actually didn't realise
just how cold it was until I came back inside to the
 warmth of my little home.
It fascinates me how all things seem frozen and then
in a couple of months Spring blooms from where you would
 think it not possible.
I so love having 4 distinct seasons since moving to Orange.
Which is your favourite season?

So wherever you are in the world I hope you
are enjoying whatever mother nature is sending your way.
 I know I am....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Kate

Oh I know it would be cold but I so wish we had some seasons here in Brisbane. The snow looks lovely...poor little chooks though - no heater out in the chook shed??

We are too close to the coast to have distinct seasons like that. My favourite time of the year is actually winter. Lovely crisp mornings, clear days with no haze (unless they are doing hazard reduction burns, then it is a different story!), and nice warm days with low 20s temps. You can always put on another jumper, but there is a limit to what you can take off!
Such a pretty scene around your cottage. Just as well they have a little nook to roost and I bet it has some nice warm hay there.

Mind you there is a vicious wind blowing at the moment. Straight from the Antarctic.

The snow is so pretty. We only got the cold and howling winds. Your garden looks rather magical in the snow. I'm definitely an Autumn/winter kind of girl, but I do agree it's nice to have the four seasons.

The snow really transformed your home. Just beautiful. We are just I bit too low here, but it was certainly freezing.

Love the pics Kate … amazing how the chooks get on in the cold … how did the new camellia stand up to the snow? We have the wind here in Sydney this morning, no doubt coming off snow capped mountains close by. Enjoy your weekend.
