Weekend in the Studio with Chookyblue

Guess who I had the pleasure of spending
the weekend with in my "Studio"?
Yep that's right Chooky came to play
for the weekend and play we did!
We turned this gorgeous jellyroll into a completed quilt top
that will be gifted to one of the 2015 Dungog Flood victims...
Our friend Julie has been busy delivering donated quilts to
people that lost everything in the floods over the weekend,
you can read about it HERE on Jewells blog....
We had a visit from Bloom for a well needed
afternoon bubbles break.....As you do!
(Ros is very talented, pop on over and have a look at her blog and try out her
latest project that was published in Homespun Magazine here in Australia)
You can see our quilt taking shape in the background....
Bubbles empty and back to work for us....
I may rename the "Studio"....."The Sweat Shop"
because Chooky was cracking that whip on me!!!!!
Actually we were on a roll, I was sew sew sewing and Chooky
was trimming, pinning and arranging things on the design wall.
After dinner called for a wine or 2  for moral support
and motivation to get the final borders on....
And Ta Dah!!!!! The finished product....
Simple yet very effective, I could quite easily have kept this
but Chooky has whisked it away to be quilted.....
The binding will be this pink one and is also made ready to go,
the other one is for a flannel quilt that I also completed
but I will tell you about that one in another post.....
So if any of you out there would like to help the flood victims.
Pop on over and take a look at Jewells blog and join in the fun.
I just cannot imagine what those poor people are going
 through after such devastating floods.....
I can't wait to see who's face we manage to
put a smile on with our Quilt of Love....

Until next time, Happy Stitching

Kate

What fun -and the quilt is gorgeous - despite/because of the champagne? ?? You girls are all such good company and so good-hearted to do this.
