Dresden Love

Firstly I ask you....WHY Have I never done Dresden's????
I love love love love them!!!!
This could be the beginning of a new addiction.....
My name is Kate and I have a problem.....LOL
Soooooo cute and so therapeutic to make, I just plugged
away on them and now have the whole 6 constructed and
pinned to the blocks waiting to be stitched down. the pattern
says to machine stitch them but I am tossing up wether to
hand stitch them down....What do you think or what have
you done? Maybe I could hand stitch the points and
machine the circles???? So many decisions!
This is my Sunday afternoon in pictures.....
Beautiful all lined up waiting to be stitched....
I'm really loving this quilt....
Thanks for stopping by, it's been nice to be blogging a bit
lately and achieving some results as well....

Until next time, Happy Stitching

Kate

They are gorgeous kate - I do need a quilt in these fabrics.
Depends on the look you want - and the time you wnat to spend on it.
I have done a decorative machine stich between the blades and around the edges on a quilt but I have also hand appliqued them.
You'll sort it.

Hi Kate, these are BEAUTIFUL! I have that pattern too but have not yet made it. I have done dresdens before and have both hand and machine sewn them. I love doing machine applique so I enjoyed that, but also enjoy hand stitching them too - so I guess I'm actually not much help, sorry! Obviously machine stitching is a lot quicker so I guess it depends on time and what you enjoy doing most.

Gorgeous...love it...I've only ever hand appliqued dresdans to the background but can't see why not to machine them depending on what suits the rest of the look of your quilt and the finish you want...

How cute are your dresdens. I don't think these will be the end of them. I'm loving your quilt. So fresh and cheerful.
