Jukejema Retreat - Part 6
Kim was a wonderful host and the girls and I
There was a lucky door prize that proved to be very lucky indeed
because every stitcher won a prize before the weekend was over.....
This is what I won.....Yeww!
A quilt pattern and fabric pack......
I am thinking one of Janelle's Journal covers with a
gorgeous big flower on the front....What do you think....
Saturday night we had a few wines and a 3 course dinner...
Fran, Jo, Alison, Roxie and I...Where's Wally Sandy?
Here she is..... Up to mischief as usual.....
We were then treated to a bit of Bollywood style entertainment....
"Salami and the dance of the 12 fat quarters.....Classic.....
Saturday night was also show and tell night.....
There were 45 quilts in total....
This is Jo's "Gardeners Journal".....

Jukejema Retreat - Part 5
My 3rd and final project for the weekend.....
I treated myself to this little pile of loveliness
and decided to use it for this project......
I called it a little bit of this and a little bit of "Nat"...
I also decided to use a stitchery that I had prepared earlier......
So I have Natalie's design with a twist of Annie...
And so the first stitches were sewn on the back cover......
Lining and 2 inside pockets made.....
I decided to make it my own and add a bit of tape
and some Ric Rac to the inside pockets......
I also quilted the pockets in the ditch.....
After some rotary cutting and decision making
I came up with this layout for the front cover......
Then the pressure was on to get it all pieced before 4pm....
The time just seemed to fly by.....
Meanwhile Alison,Roxie, The Bobsy Twins Jo and Fran were
hard at it creating Journal covers with Fabric Flowers.......
Jo is planning on going into business....
"Journal Covers for all Occasions"
This is the back and front cover completed.....
I do look pleased with myself!
Still a little way to go until it is finished though.....
More on The Retreat tomorrow.....
Until next time, Happy Stitching.....

Jukejema Retreat - Part 4
Project number 2 .....
I traced the stitchery design for Annie's Christmas table topper....
I then made the double sided base from the red prairie cloth.....
And cut lots of 1 1/2 inch squares for the centre circle...
I am using "Scandinavian Christmas" fabrics
left over from my Tis the season Quilt....
I am using "Scandinavian Christmas" fabrics
left over from my Tis the season Quilt....
Started stitching but didn't get far.....
I then stitched 16 rusty bells around the edges...Jingle Jingle!!!!
And pieced my fiddly cute little squares together.....*Grin*
This is where I am up to so this will be the
stitching project in my hoop for a while.....
I also traced the stitchery designs for the tree cones
so will need to get those stitched as well.......
See you tomorrow with more Retreat Fun....
Until next time, Happy Stitching
