Sewing Group Christmas Party

Last Wednesday night was our stitching Christmas party...
We all took a gift to the value of $20.....
This was my gift all ready to go....
Here it is with all the other gifts.....
There are seven in our group but Fran could not make it....
You missed a great night Fran.....
Here we are before we opened the presents and were still all friends!
( I will explain)
Back L to R : Roxie, Alison and Jo....
Front L to R: Lorraine, Di and Me....
So this is what we did....
We had 7 presents so we put 7 numbers in a hat....
We all pulled out a number....
Then starting with Number 1 the person chooses and opens a gift....
Then number 2 can also choose and open a gift or give
the unopened gift to number one and steal her gift.....
This is why it is best to be number 7 because you
then have the pick of the opened gifts.....*Grin*.....
I was number 6....
Roxie was number 1 and she chose my gift....
A fabric Bon Bon containing a glass ornament.....
She was very lucky because she loved it and nobody
stole it from her (Alison thought about it though)
And then the fun started.....
Di was number 2 and chose Roxie's present, a table runner and chook....
She was very excited because she has a red kitchen.....
Lorraine was number 3 and she had other ideas....
She chose another gift for Di and stole the runner and Chook.....
Di was telling her off in the pic below....Ha ha....Love it!
I love how Lorraine looks so confident with her stash.....
Di opened her second gift and was delighted to see this gorgeous
red heart ornament that Alison had brought.....
She looks worried that this one might go as well....
Oh the joy of it!!!!!
Jo was number 4 and yes you guessed it she
stole the table runner and chook from Lorraine.....
How wicked is that grin.....
So Lorraine got to open another present......
Inside was this Christmas Canister that drew
a few oohs and aahs from the crowd.....
Her grandson Logan looks very impressed.....
But not as impressed as Alison when she stole it right
away and gave Lorraine another present to open.....
Alison was number 5.....
(I think Miss Prudence made her do it!)
Finally Lorraine got one that she could keep.....
Some Note cards and soap purchase by Fran
who was absent but still in on the action.....
Finally my turn and I didn't have the heart to steal a
present so I chose the gift that Lorraine had bought.....
(Besides they were all looking a bit snarly by then....
Lol....Not really it was all in good fun)
These are my lovely goodies.....
Ornies for my tree with little jingle bells all around them and a great
"Stuffit Christmas Shopping Bag" that I put to good
use the following day while out Christmas Shopping.....
Here is a close up of my ornies.....
Thanks Loraine I love them and thanks girls for the laughs.....
Fran was number 7 and I quickly threw the rule in that
if you are not here you get the present and can't steal
because I wasn't parting with my loot....
I didn't get a pic of Frans Pressie :(
A bit of show and tell.....
This is a quilt that Roxie has been working on....
It is gorgeous and all needle turned....
Good times were had by all.....
Here I am with Miss Prudence and her
Hexies that she has been busily stitching....
You can read more about them HERE
I hope you all have great ladies to stitch with
and share laughs along the way like I do....
I am off to Bathurst today shopping
with Miss Molly and Jacky Mister.....
Top 2 shops on my list are The Home Patch and Spotlight....
I hope you all have a great day I know I will....
Until next time, Happy Stitching

Kate

Well, it certainly looks like you girls had a great time. I haven't heard of the stealing presents game before! I don't think I could pinch someone else's gift!

that is a fantastic way to swap presents, I love it, such fun!!!

It can be nerve racking but that method of swapping is so much fun. I've done it once but with a bigger group, and it got quite edgy at times. At least with fellow stitchers you know all the gifts will be great. Love the bells. x

What a fun way to do Xmas gifts. We have our sewing group party next Thursday. we normally just bring something small and handmade.
